Stereotaxic Instruments for Mice (SR-5M-HT/SR-5M1-HT)

Based on our long-established SR series, this stereotaxic instrument is designed specifically for mice and is equipped with various functions to fix the head more firmly. The auxiliary ear bar allows clamping actions to be smoothly manipulated with just one hand, letting the operator fix the external auditory canal and check the fixation firmness with the fingertips. The mouth and nose fixing clamp features a slim, compact design appropriate for the mouth of a small mouse, making it easy to confirm that the teeth are fixed firmly. In addition, the instrument allows easy back/forward and up/down position adjustment. An AP frame bar is provided, to which many different types of accessories can be attached along with the attached micromanipulator: SMM Series (SMM-100 / SMM-100C / SMM-200 / SMM-200C) or SM-15R/L. The SR-5M1-HT includes the non-rupture type auxiliary ear bar (EB-6).

Stereotaxic Instruments for Rats (SR-5R-HT)

This new stereotaxic instrument in our successful SR series is designed specifically for rats, and features various special functions to fix the head more firmly. Smooth manipulation of clamping actions with one hand is made possible by the auxiliary ear bar, and the operator can check that the external auditory canal is fixed correctly by feeling with the fingertips. The mouth and nose fixing clamp is designed thin and small, to match the dimensions of a small rat's mouth, allowing easy confirmation of teeth fixation. In addition, the instrument allows easy back/forward and up/down position adjustment. An AP frame bar is provided, to which many different types of accessories can be attached along with the attached micromanipulator: SMM Series (SMM-100 / SMM-200) or SM-15R/L. The SR-5R-HT has one AP frame bar, while the SR-6R-HT has two.

Stereotaxic Manipulator (SMM-100C)

Coarse manipulator for stereotaxic instruments focusing on driving outside the animal's brain. The driving by Z-axis control knob: approximately 4mm per rotation makes faster adjustments for leveling bregma and lambda, and faster retracting/returning from the dura mater, which will improve efficiency of experiment. For operations inside the brain, One-axis Motorized Stereotaxic Micromanipulator MDS-1 and hydraulic manipulator can be added optionally*. The X-axis is equipped with coarse control knob, which is the same as the Z-axis. The Y-axis (anterior/ posterior direction) is equipped with fine control knob. The upper body of SMM-100C is switchable in either AP or ML direction when using it with tilting angle.

Stereotaxic Micromanipulator (MM-3)

Long cherished by many pioneering users, this manual micromanipulator features a smooth drive and stable controls which are derived from advanced and successful technologies. One-axis fine movement in the same direction as the microelectrode makes it possible to approach a specimen with care and caution. The three-dimensional coarse movement handle operates via a rack & pinion mechanism, enabling the microelectrode to be placed near the specimen quickly. Handles on both sides in the X- and Z-axis make this equipment suitable for both left- and right-handed operators, and tension adjustment is also available to prevent the handle from dropping under its own weight.

Pipette Puller (PC-100)

PC-100 enables the user to produce many kinds of pipettes including pipettes with a tip of several 10µm to be used for the experiments in biotechnology, those with a tip of a few micrometers to be used for the experiments in electrophysiology, and even those with a tip in the region of 1µm. In terms of producing pipettes with a wide variety of shapes and tips, the function of Mode selector button allows to choose a pulling mode setting between one-stage and two-stage. Once the value has been determined, the specification of PC-100 allows the user to reproduce the same pipette as the last one. In addition, the PC-100 applies free fall by gravity as its pulling force (or descending by the action of a weight), thus it is provided with two types of weights; a light type and a heavy type, two pieces each that is attach/detachable respectively in order to adjust the pulling force. The PC-100 enables you to pull various kinds of pipettes by all those settings of output voltage, pulling mode between one-stage and two-stage, and pulling force adjusted by weights.

Microforge (MF2)

Microforge is useful instrument which enables production of micropipette while seeing the tip with built-in microscope. The MF2 fabricates various kinds of pipette by micro-works of cutting, fire-polishing, bending and forming a spike in needs of experiment. Seeing the tip of pipette in the microscope ensures to fabricate pipette of your preference. The microscope is designed as compact yet robust unit which reduces risk of pipette breakage during the handling. All of fine controls are performed by reliable knobs installed on the microscope. The focusing knob can be switched to the left side of the microscope if needed. The readout of heater level, which is essential for the work, is indicated on display. The heater is turned on and off with foot switch. The LED lamp as the light source allows brightness adjustment from low to high.
